What experience do I need?
No experience is necessary although if you are new to yoga then always notify the teacher ahead of a class so they can discuss everything with you. When booking a private class then a more detail case history will also be taken to ensure that the lesson is structured around your specific needs and goals.
What do I wear?
Anything which is non restrictive and allows for full bodied, free and flexible movement. Yoga is also practised in bare feet.
Do I need any equipment?
We will provide everything you need. For any classes taught in your own home then you will need to provide enough floor space for the relevant number of mats including one for the teacher.
Can I eat or drink before a class?
It is advised that you do not eat at least 2 hours before a class and ideally 3/4 hours if eating a large meal. It is also very important that you keep the body hydrated ahead of a class, although it's advised to abstain from drinking water during an Ashtanga class so that the body can retain the fire of the practice.
Can I practise if I am unfit, overweight or have any physical injuries or medical conditions?
Yoga is accessible for most people and will also aid the recovery of many ailments. However it is imperative that you discuss any physical injuries or medical conditions ahead of your practice.
Can I practise if I am pregnant?
It is recommended that you abstain from practising yoga during the first trimester, and from the second trimester onwards yoga flower advises that you attend a yoga class which specifically caters for pregnancy.
